Random House and video game writing

There was a Wall Street Journal article today about Random House throwing its considerable talent pool into developing properties for video games. It's always nice to see other media taking video games seriously as a narrative medium; I just hope, however, that this isn't about "fixing" video games by making them more like books. Video games are a unique storytelling medium, and I don't want to see a series of shallow minigames between chapters of text. I guess we'll see. I'm at least optimistic that Random House's investment will encourage companies to step up their game.
